Interested in acquiring your CDL-A?
In today’s times, the industry is going full automatic transmission. Especially within major freight moving companies; Swift, USXpress, Werner to name a few. You will not hear this from a truck driving school recruiter… There are MANY smaller and more specialized freight moving companies (OTR experience required) that need candidates who can drive MANUAL/STANDARD transmission trucks to get the job. Therefore, it is of the upmost importance that you select a truck driving school that has the capability to test you on a manual transmission truck. Failure to do so will put an exemption on your CLASS A from day one. You will forever be excluded from operating manual transmission trucks legally, until you test on a manual transmission truck.

Search (CDL-A) truck driving schools. Does not matter how far away.

Start calling. Do not rely on the answers given by ai. Ask these series of questions
-Do you offer driver tests in manual transmission trucks?
-Do you offer pre hire programs? To save on out of pocket expenses up front.
-Do you offer transportation to school locations and/or room and food? - 3
Call regardless of driving background or criminal history. If you do not qualify to attend classes they will let you know what you need to do to qualify. Or, how long you must wait to attend classes once enough time passes from last legal offense. (Do not reoffend)
