I’m learning that so much of this journey is about identity. Not becoming someone better. But letting go of everything I thought I had to be long enough to discover what was underneath it. And that part can be terrifying. Because the old identity was familiar. Even when it hurt. Even when it kept me small. I knew how to be that person. But rebirth asks us to release what was. The beliefs. The stories. The roles. The masks. The version of ourselves built from fear, pain, survival, expectation. And then there’s this strange space where the old you is gone, but the new you hasn’t quite learned how to live yet. I think that’s where I am in many ways. Learning how to move again. How to speak again. How to trust what I know within myself. How to let the light come through without immediately trying to cover it. Maybe the journey isn’t about creating a new identity at all. Maybe it’s about letting the false ones fall away until what has always been there can finally be seen. “This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine.” I’m learning how. May yours shine too.
